Besançon city
The city is deeply characterised by the famous Citadel hill landscape, built by Vauban. On both sides, the Doubs River runs around the hill. When the first men settled, the Doubs regionn was fully covered with trees.
During the Gallic war, Julius Caesar describe Besançon city by saying that ” the river Doubs almost surrounds the whole town, as though it were traced round it with a pair of compasse “.
As of today, Besançon is considered as the capital of its region.
The layout of the cottage
The ground floor includes an entrance hall with a toilet, a fitted kitchen and a spacious open lounge with wood table. The living room is 30 square metres and it is composed by wooden and metal furnitures.
In the kitchen, you will find a coffee machine, a kettle, a toaster and a microwave oven. You also have a private terrace with direct access from the bay window. It offered a peacefull view of the wood. You should know that you can enjoy a sportive course and a hiking paths.
The entire interior design (column Roman, wall clock, metallic sculpture, city shield, …) have been realised by local artists. This maintains the story of the region.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms are upstairs. One of them has a Queen Size bed (160×200) and the other one has two single beds (90×120).
Once again, the design reminds the wood and metal style.
Windows in each room are equipped with electric blinds with remote control.
Each bed is equipped with mattress covers, pillows and duvets with duvet covers.
A convertible sofa offers an extra bed.
Other Facilities
In the bathroom, you will find a 90×90 shower. Toilets are separated from the bathroom.
Also provided, a hair dryer and a washing machine with a clothesline.
Vacuum cleaner, iron and iro
ning board are also available.
There is a TV and a free WiFi access.
